His Eminence Tsula Lopen Rinpochay, Karma Rangdrol, was born in 1967 in Tormashong, Bhutan, to parents Tshering and Tshering Zomba. Even in his youth, he displayed remarkable sharpness of mind and a dignified demeanor beyond his years. At the tender age of 8, he embraced a monastic life at Monger Dratshang, immersing himself in the foundational studies of Dharma and the intricate rituals of Vajra Yana practice.
By 16, he journeyed to Thimphu Phajoding under the tutelage of the venerable Geyshey Gueden Rinchen, the 69th spiritual leader and Abbot. Here, he delved into the profound teachings of Dharma scriptures and was bestowed with numerous empowerments.
